The Society inaugurated in 1969 exists to foster an interest in
the histories of Albrighton and its sister village Donington, together with
surrounding communities. Nine meetings are held per year, in Albrighton's High
Street Red House, on the first Monday of every month at 8 pm, except from June
to August.
Sessions consist of talks on aspects of local history, given by visiting
speakers and members of the society, usually illustrated by screened transparencies.
The average attendance per meeting is 50-60 members and visitors can pay £1.50
at the door.
Several organized tours are arranged to places of historical interest every
year.
