Community History in Telford & Wrekin

All nine libraries in Telford & Wrekin hold community history collections, the most comprehensive of which is currently at Telford Library. In November 2011 this will move to the Community History Centre at the new Wellington Library, where volunteers will also share their knowledge and skills.

Our Virtual Library also gives library members free access to a wide range of online reference services that we subscribe to, such as Ancestry library, The Times Digital Archive,
Dictionary of National Biography and Who Was Who.

Shropshire Archives

Since April 1998 a joint agreement between Shropshire County Council and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin has ensured that the Service continues to operate across the historic county of Shropshire. As well as holding nearly 9km, of material relating to Shropshire past and present, the Service works closely with library services and voluntary societies to co-ordinate local studies provision
